I have been searching for really good polish food for years. One closeish to home. This place far exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was fantastic. Our waitress was amazing. And the fooooooood! Omg. We had the chicken noodle soup which was so flavorful. Loved that they use fresh parsley. For a dinner we had the stuffed cabbage and pork shank. The meat fell off of the bone. The potatos with the fresh dill were fantastic. The sauerkraut was the best I've ever had. We also had the Cucumber salad which was out of this world! Will definitely be coming back, a lot!

My girlfriend, her parents, and I came here on a weeknight. We were the only customers in the restaurant from when we sat down until we left. The server was okay. I think he's the owner or something because you can tell he doesn't have natural serving skills, but he was very nice and accommodating. You could tell that the food was made from scratch, which is amazing, but it was all a little bland. I normally don't use salt, but I had to use salt on everything here. That being said, this place is great, the esthetic is quirky and entertaining, and the food is authentic and high quality. I was leaning 5 stars on this place, but the food and service were just slightly lacking that 5 star edge, in my opinion. Great experience, I would highly recommend trying this place out!

Fabulous food. We were so surprised by the quality and delicious dishes served to us. The non assuming unpretentious atmosphere has us thinking regular Polish restaurant. It clearly surpassed all of our expectations!

My mother and I went there this past Sunday for lunch and the food was fantastic. She had the stuffed cabbage leaves and I had the meatballs. The food was fresh and delicious. If you love Polish food, this is a must try place.

After seeing other reviews we had to go to this local eatery. I used to frequent this place when it was a different restaurant. Pleasantly surprised with the improvements they have made. Simple but welcoming and puts you at ease. We had the assorted pierogi's and loved them. Fresh and tasty. We tried the goulash with potato pancakes, the polish sausage plate , the pork chop with mushroom with a side of gravy and the beef rolls. Every entree came with a side vegetable that was well prepared. My favorite is the cucumber with cream and dill. The red beet and carrots were also very well prepared. My goulash was everyone's favorite and the pork chop a close second. Everything was tasty and portion sizes just huge! If you are in the neighborhood or like polish food, check this place out. You will feel at home.

My husband and I stopped by this place when we had time to kill. We each had a soup, split a salad, and split the potato pancakes. Everything was so delicious. Their soup of the day was pickle soup which we ordered and I always love, we also had the borscht which was very good too. The potato pancakes were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The berry salad was very fresh and refreshing. We definitely will be back to try the heavier dishes.

I literally cannot say enough about our experience at Polish & American Bistro in Barrington, IL. What an adorable restaurant, comfortable and inviting. It was slow when we arrived and we were greeted and seated immediately by our server. She was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Hubby and I ordered main dishes l, no apps, but the list of appetizers was…Appetizing! He had the breaded pork chop meal and I had the Goulash with potato pancakes. Heaven!! The food was soooo good. The portions were enormous, I had to take mine back home in a carry out. Our waitress talked us into take home deserts…could Not pass up the beautiful fresh dessert options, cheesecakes, cannolis, sunflower cake, fruit tarts..they all looked delicious! We settled on mango cheesecake and pear cheesecake slices. Cant wait to go back!!!
